Arreton Parish Council is the Burial Authority for Gore Cemetery and St Georges Churchyard, Arreton. Some historical records are filed at The County Record Office. The Parish Council will be starting a project in 2025 to digitise the records.
St Georges Churchyard Arreton is no longer open for burials but an area has been retained for interment of cremated remains since 1st June 1999 and this includes veterans of the Burma Campaign from WWII. There are several Grade 2 Listed tombs and a War Memorial.
Gore Cemetery was opened in 1909. The are 4 consecrated sections and 1 un-consecrated section. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission recognises the grave of Lance Corporal Jack Butcher of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
