An invitation from Natalie Pulford of Arreton Manor: “I would like to invite anyone to join us at the big bonfire that I shall be lighting in the large field to the East of Downend Road at 6pm on November 5th. They can bring their own food, drinks and sparklers. It is best to not bring fireworks, I will light a few to celebrate. This is more a community of the island thing, nothing professional so everyone is responsible for themselves…I just think it would be lovely to get as many locals together as possible, just like the old days. There is a bus stop on the verge of Downend Road and the field called ‘Arreton Manor’ which has steps leading directly into the bonfire field and for very limited parking it will be signed after the big gates on Downend Road where taxis can also drop off and collect. I will be doing it rain or shine but perhaps not if it is pouring down”.
