This is probably the biggest fund-raising event held in the parish. A number of gardens in Arreton village are opened on a Sunday towards the end of June. The important point is that these are not show gardens. Apart from the two Manor houses, the gardens on show are family gardens used for the same every-day activities as any other gardens. Yet people come every year to look round and enjoy doing so. This could be helped by the cream teas available at some gardens. The day is organised by Mrs. Vivian Roberts of Haseley Manor assisted by a small group of friends. She is always looking for new gardens to join in. If you have a garden which is reasonably safe for visitors, and has something of interest to show people, why not contact Vivian and join the group.
